I knowingly walked into a situation prepared to share some words, accusations and possibly prevent my best friend from beating up... my old best friend.
None of that happened. Everyone played nice, polite conversation. She even came up to me after a little while and told me she wasn't mad at me. That's cool. Doesn't make what happened right nor was it an apology. I guess at this point I won't be bothered running into her as much as I used to, but that's about it.
No more than ten minutes later, my Dorry gets into a blow out with her brother and we leave. Didn't see that coming. I was disappointed. I thought it was going a different way, and I'm a little confused about the situation now.
I want Dorry to be okay with her brother, regardless of what happened a year ago. It happened, it sucked that it happened and there is no going back to what we all used to be. But for the sake of their family, their father, just for the sake that they're twins even..
We all know who is wrong. We all know an apology along with an explanation is owed. But nobody is ready to back down. The stakes are being held too high. The wrong compromises are being attempted and its flat out not doing anybody any good.
If I knew this was going to happen, I would have warned someone back then. The aftermath is beyond belief.
