Zach's big 21st birthday is exactly a week from today. I've been tossing the idea of a surprise party for him around since November, but I've never been big on birthday parties. Neither is he. Were the people that never get thought of for our own birthday by friends. We're not the kind who get surprise parties, anything special. It's not that important, but sometimes it gets irritating when everyone else gets that kind of thing on their birthday and your expected to pitch in with money, help out all day and stay the whole time. Sometimes you just want that in return, no?
But I figured 21 is the birthday most looked forward to, so I've spent a majority of my afternoon plotting and scheming. Calls have been made to friends, I decided to make the cake myself, and made a shopping list for chips, dip and of course, alcohol.
My mom so graciously agreed to shop for that last item for me =]
I have not dropped hints, haven't mentioned the word party, nothing. The most I've brought up is there anything special he wanted and if he knew if his friends were planning anything.
I need to get decorations, balloons, all that good party stuff. I don't know if the party will be held at our house or one of our friends house. We'll see. The goal is to make this go so unnoticed, he'll freak out.
Hopefully he will learn by example and I'll get a big 21st too =D
