Allll about Valentines.

Today I decided to venture out and get Zach's Valentines gift. I ended up finding him the Family Guy movie thing he wanted and some other little things at Target. Nothing too expencive, as always. Plus, I love Target. I spent an hour and a half in there today. I always get him some red roses, card and some form of candy he likes too, but I don't have to worry about that until Saturday.

I'm actually really excited about Valentines this year. I've been dropping hints about this ring I looove. I've been mentioning it since before Thanksgiving, when I first saw it. The other day he mentioned "Oh, isn't Valentines Day coming up or something?" I answered yes, and left it alone.
The next day I said "Valentines Day is this up coming Saturday" and got a shrug with no verbal responce. It gave me a weird feeling he was up to something. I really think he's either gotten me the ring or something like it. The past two years, he's never said anything about Valentines Day until the day of. He's always gotten me something I love. I also want to make sure everyone knows if I do end up getting this ring (and I hope I do.. eeek!), its not a promise ring or an engagment ring or anything like that. It's pretty much just an I love you ring. After two years and three months, I think I kind of deserve it!

Lately, Zach has been a bit more selfless than he used to be and I can't even tell you how great it is! The other day he called me while I was at work and told me that he was on his way to Lowes to find the part to fix our closet door. He told me he had been on the phone all morning to his phone company trying to get a new phone, but decided against it because the cost was too high. He had the money, but didn't end up doing it. He told me he needed to focus more on other things and put his money to better use, like fixing the closet. I was floored! The Zach I knew would have bought the phone, and he didn't.

It just makes me so happy. I know he's been reluctant to grow up and get his you-know-what together, but I think he's getting the hang of it. BTW, he did get a new phone for himself like a day later (=]) but he chose a less expencive one at a very fair price. So, you may not be able to break bad habits completley, but at least it's been dented right?
=D
