It's close to 6am, and I didn't sleep at all. I wasn't even close to being tired for awhile, and as time wore on I felt a little worn out. But honestly, there is no way I am going to fall asleep at 6am. What a waste of a day.
It's been raining pretty much non-stop the past couple days. I am close to getting sick of it. I'm glad were getting it because it seems my state is always in a drought. There are already water restrictions in part of the Bay Area, and sooner or later it'll reach my town. It's just a matter of time, guaranteed. What really ticks me off is the weather people on the news. Good lord.
First all you here is this: "Around this time of year we see an annual rainfall of 5 inches, Karen. But as of right now we've gotten approximately .07, and the next two weeks will be sunshine and warm weather. It's unfortunate. There is not nearly enough snow pack to last us until next winter and the dry conditions starting in May could really be disastrous. Back to you."
Then, as if on point, it starts to rain. A nice steady rain. No joke, 3 days into this steady rain, the weather people are freaking out.
"On the Bay Bridge we have Tom Herbert reporting on all this incredible rain we've been having! Tom?" *insert camera shift*
"Thanks Karen! As you can see behind me, the roads are slick, the wind has picked up and traffic is as backed up as it can get. There have been reports of literally dozens of accidents, left and right, people are just sliding all over the place Karen! It's a real mess. My advice, stay off the roads if possible. This system has no intentions whatsoever on letting up. Back to you." *insert another camera change*
"Thanks Tom. Stay dry! It's 5:53 am and Channel 7 is just getting reports of flooding all over the bay area. Due to the constant rain there are fallen tree's in the Santa Cruz area giving drivers a hard time this morning and leaving thousands in the dark. Goodness I hope this rain lets up! We could all use a break from it! We'll keep you updated."
I used actual dialog from ABC 7 that I watched while writing this. They drive me nuts. There is always something to complain about and nothing ever makes anyone happy. Theres not enough rain, now there is too much... As long as I'm not getting charged ridiculously this summer for water, I could care less.
Bring on the rain.
