Don't you hate it when you get your hopes up?

I had a job interview on Tuesday for a nanny position. It paid way more than what I make now, and it was more steady hours. I drove all the way to San Francisco to meet this woman, had a great interview and all that jazz. She told me she had another person after me she was going to interview, but she promised to call that night.

When she didn't, I kind of got the feeling I wasn't going to get it. She called tonight, and sure enough, I didn't.

I'm not really upset, just more confused. I gave her great references and she made it sound like she was really interested in hiring me. I told the people who I listed to expect a call, and they all said not to worry, they'd say great things. I called them all tonight, and she didn't call any of them. Ugh. It's frustrating.

Thankfully, I still have a job. In most ways, I'm happy I didn't get it because I absolutely adore the families I work for. They're great people and I'd do anything for them. Hopefully, I'll pick up a few more hours here and there so my bills can get paid and I'll be able to start building my savings back up.

Life is still good. Not cushy, but good =]
