I just hate it when plans change.

I should be in Anaheim, CA right now, sitting in a hotel room gazing out of the window at a Disneyland skyline prepping to gush my excitement to you while I sip at some alcoholic beverage I shouldn't have but since I'm close enough to 21 and on vacation, my parents got me anyway..

But I'm not.

Our plans got pushed back for two more days. We will leave on New Years day early in the morning to hopefully make it there by late afternoon. My aunt lives in Redlands and I'm pretty sure we're heading out her way to meet up with her for dinner. My two cousins Cammie and Lori, their husband and kids will probably be there too.

This 'cold' is still kicking my butt. My glands are swollen and my throat is hurting. Sinuses are all messed up and I seem to be lacking an appetite. Rare.

Zach took off with his friend Jake tonight. His wife Erica and daughter are away until tomorrow so he invited Zach over for pizza, beer and all things Xbox 360. He also announced that Erica is pregnant with number two! She's about eight weeks in. I'm excited and happy for them. I hope Erica can handle two babies so young. I'm kind of nervous for her.

Happy New Years to you all! The next time I post I will be at the happiest place on earth =]

I've caught cold number two. My head is congested, my throat is so sore, my body just aches and as bad as I feel the need to cough, it doesn't do any good.

Christmas was a little difficult this year. My uncle was rushed into the ER Christmas morning. Besides my aunt and cousin, he has a regular nurse that comes by to replace his breathing tube and catheter and make sure he's doing well. This past week she went on vacation so a new nurse was sent over. She replaced his catheter and later we were told she somehow injured his liver doing it. An infection quickly set in and it made him sick all night so off to the hospital he went. He had a minor surgery and was put into the ICU for two days.

Other than that, my family got pictures done yesterday. I only got to upload two before blogger got difficult with me.

Zach & I.

My brothers & I.

Tomorrow I'm finally getting my cell phone replaced. I tried to get it Saturday but the phone I decided on was sold out. So, I talked to the guy about another and decided to go ahead with it, and surprise! That too was sold out. He sent me to another store that had the phone I was looking for in the next city over that's affiliated with AT&T. Unfortunately, the man who was trying to sell me the phone was rude and kept insisting that I needed to spend two hundred dollars to get the rebate (which was not the same at the first store I went to). I also had to add on navigation for ten extra dollars and he just kept going on and on.

Finally, I flat out told him that I was not interested in paying him all that money for something I could get for less at AT&T if I just waited. I also mentioned on my way out of the store I would never come back and wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

It's been a super long week, that's for sure. Tuesday we're leaving for Orange County, if I can kick this stupid cold. It's definitley not giving up easily.

Christmas Ever rush

Today has been craziest of all crazy days. We've been wrapping gifts, cleaning like maniacs, baking and making last minute shopping trips ALL day. I'm so exhausted!

My brother, his wife and there two babies are driving up from Southern California right now, and should be here by 11pm. Maybe midnight. My other brother will also be driving up from Southern California and should get here about the same time.

I love that my niece and nephew will be here for Christmas. We bought them some toys that will be left out from Santa and I'm so excited to fill stockings and all that good stuff tonight. By the time the kids get here, they'll be dead asleep. I even have some suff from 'Santa' already under the tree =]

Everything is still in jumbles around this place so I'll get some pictures later when it's all nice and finished!

In 9 days...

I'm going to Disneyland!!!!
=]=]=]

My mom told me today that our Christmas gift this year will be two days at Disney. I'm so excited. I've never been to Disneyland at Christmas time where it's all decked out in holiday decorations. I went earlier this year in April with a couple friends, but it was not at all as fun as I had hoped. We stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel and pretty much never left it. Those friends were pretty hefty drinkers and wanted to bar hop and whatever.

My mom is leaving details to herself for the most part. I recently had an accident with my cell phone and was hoping for a new one. While I was prodding at her about going to look for a new one, she blurted it out. Haha. Even at twenty years old, I can still bug my mother enough to make her explode secrets.

In other news around here, my little kitten lost his two front teeth the other day. My mom found one on the couch, and the other he must have swallowed. I was worried at first, because I had no idea if cats lost teeth or not. But I looked it up and sure enough, they do. So my toothless kitty has been chewing up everything he can get his mouth around.

It's still freezing outside. Today was one of those beautiful sunny days and it appeared to be a tad warmer out. Wrong. It was much colder than it had been. I felt cheated.

It's been a long week this week. But every year I get like this the week before Christmas. Everything seems to drag on and on.

Only 8 days!!!

Have you ever wondered?

So, today I was reading all the blogs I follow. Most of the people I follow on blogger, I've been following since AOL Journals. I didn't have a journal over there and I felt because I didn't, I wouldn't leave comments. When the journals closed, I followed the same people over here and made a blog of my own.
A little while ago, I wondered if the people I follow ever wondered why I follow them?
If I had 20 or 30 or however many followers, I'd wonder too. I like reading about other peoples lives. Most are married, some have kids. I read about people in the south, on the east coast, in the middle of the United states, all over. It's just fun to see what other peoples lives are like. What they get to do, how they get to live. It's fun. Kind of like a book that doesn't end.
I hope you know if I follow you, it's because you're an interesting person. =]
Besides that little brain fart, it's raining and cold in Nor Cal today. It says it should be 45 degree's outside, but with the wind, it feels colder. I'm refusing to leave the house until it warms up a little and the rain kicks back.
All our Christmas stuff is up and I can't believe Christmas is 11 days away. Eek! I still haven't even started holiday shopping yet. I'm kind of low on money so bills and such have to be taken care of first. I'm not expecting anything this year, so hopefully all goes well.
I should have pictures in my next entry. I'm off to make something warm. ?it's sooo cold =o

Nobody knows what's wong.

[ I'll be honest, I'm writing this more for myself. I'm trying to get all of what I know together so I can say what I need to say to a neurologist without being looked at like I'm crazy. If you happen to read through the whole thing and have any advice, I'd really love to hear it.]
It is honestly the worst feeling in the world when you know you have a serious medical issue and your doctor can't give you a diagnosis.

I've been dealing with this problem since 2006. I can only describe my problem like a seizure. They only happen while I'm sleeping. Severe shaking, trouble breathing, and serious fatigue the whole day after. It's been really unpredictable. January of 2007, they seemed to just go away. I didn't have a single problem sleeping, nothing. This past August, they seemed to have returned with a vengeance.

Now they're much more violent, they last longer and the side affects are way worse. When I first started having these episodes, I would wake up right before it happened and would have to trooper through the whole thing. It wasn't too bad, they didn't seem to last long and I would be able to calm myself down. I'd also be able to tell you exactly what I felt, what happened and an estimate of how long it lasted.

I had one this morning, and I don't remember a damn thing. The only thing I can remember is hearing someone breathing really hard and thinking how I had to get up and go to the bathroom. A couple seconds after that, I realized it was me breathing, but I wasn't feeling it. It's like my body and my brain weren't in sync. Then it's like they finally caught up to each other and that's when I really was aware of what had happened.

After these seizures happen, it takes a good 10 minutes for me to get it together. My muscles are shot, I can't move myself and pretty much I just lay there as dead weight and cry hysterically. Zach tells me there's a bunch of times that I scream at the top of my lungs, like I'm trying to get someone to help me.

The after effects are cruddy, as you can imagine. Right now, I'm very tired. I'm very emotional and feel like crying. I have a headache the size of Texas and my sense of feel has intensified by a thousand. Just rubbing my nose is the weirdest feeling.

I've had an EEG, and it came back normal. This morning the advice nurse at Kaiser recommended that I go to the emergency room and have tests run. I don't know how much good that would do. ERs are for people who are really in an emergency. Not someone who is okay right now but just has an issue.

I think that this might have something to do with my RLS. I was diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome 2 years ago, and it's only in my left leg. Evert time one of these seizures happens, my left knee always hurts after. Not just like a small ache. It's an intense burning, throbbing pain. I'm not on any medications for it, so I'm going to bring it up with my new doctor. The one I've been seeing doesn't seem to believe a word I say and looks at me like I'm wasting her time.

Sometimes I wonder if I'm wrong, but what I wrote is all I know. All I want is a doctor to look at me and say "Don't worry. We're going to find out what's wrong."

Is that too much to ask?

Random picture entry.

The kind of days NorCal has been having.

Home made cookies.

I love making these.

Just regualar chocolate chip cookies.

My cat likes this empty coke box. He's been playing with it for two days.

He also likes to get in the middle of board games.
But he's just a cutie.

Whew.

It's been a busy couple days.

I've been babysitting the past couple days for a pair of mom's who happen to be best friends. One has 1 kid, the other has 4 kids.

Thankfully, I'm getting paid well and in all honesty, babysitting is really not a job. I get to sit in a warm house [or cold in the summer =)] and play.

Shockingly last night with 5 kids, it was easy. The 3 older girls played Wii for awhile, we watched a holiday special on Nick and made some cookies. It was noisy and crazy, but I had fun.

Driving home last night was rough. Thanks to the bay area fog, I couldn't see five feet in font of my car. We've had fog pretty much every night these past two weeks, and it doesn't burn off until close to noon. I love winter, but I hate driving in fog. It scares me to death.

Hopefully, we'll be pulling out Christmas decorations tonight or tomorrow. I have a ton of pictures I'd love to share, but I don't have the patience to upload them. So be on the look for the most random picture entry tomorrow. Haha.

I hope you all are having a great weekend!

Happy December!

Nothing too thrilling has been going on around here the past few days. Zach caught my cold and has been in bed since Saturday morning. He hasn't been taking it too well. His cold oddly seems very different from mine. His nose is not as stuffed and he is having bad body aches. He says he is constantly dizzy too. Beats me. I love him, but he is difficult to deal with when he's sick. Lots of complaints and whining, but he doesn't want to take anything or try anything to feel better.

Not too much Christmas stuff up like I had hoped for. My Dad is being difficult. It's really obnoxious. It seems the problem is we want to get it out, but he doesn't want to do it. We offer to do it, but he won't let us. It's so annoying. It's times like this I really can't stand living at home. Why does the world want it to be so hard for young adults to get out on their own and start a life?

I had a good time with a few friends this weekend. I went to lunch with my two good friends from high school, AJ and Jessica. It was fun and we went shopping after. While we were shopping we ran in to all sorts of people we knew. It was nice. Saturday night I spent with my friend Dorry & her boyfriend Jeff. Jeff is significantly older than her, and had his kids over. We played poker and had a good time. It was fun. I'm pretty good at poker =]

Today I'm hanging around the house. It's foggy and freezing outside. I have a picture, but I can't find the cord to my camera to upload it. I need to find it.

What a day...

Today was overall just a great day. I couldn't have asked for better.

I had a fantastic time cooking with my grandparents, seeing my aunt and uncle, laughing hysterically with my cousins and goofing around after dinner. A significant improvement from last year, and I'm tickled =]

Today also happens to be myself and Zach's two year anniversary. It just happened to fall on Thanksgiving this year, so we went out for dinner to celebrate last week. It was great and today we just told each other happy anniversary. Nothing special and very low-key, as always. We aren't the type to make a big to do over being together for a certain length of time. We'll save that for being married. Hah.

In other news, this weekend will be pretty filled up with things to do. My friend Jessica is home from Davis and we've planned to catch up this Saturday. It'll be so good to see her. I'm also making a big push to pull out Christmas decorations this weekend! We normally don't start pulling things out until the first week or two of December, but I want the cheer to start earlier this year. Even if I have to put our tree up alone, I will. We have to have a fake tree every year because my brother is allergic. I don't mind. Fake tree's can stay up all year if you wanted. The one we just bought last year is pre-lit. Ha.

I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving! Only 28 days till Christmas!! Yikes!

I love this holiday. I have so much to be thankful for. I'm so happy that my family decided to stick with tradition and I can't wait to see them. We'll be leaving here in fifteen minutes or so for my aunt's house. I spent my evening yesterday baking cookies and making home made peanut butter cups. They're a favorite =]

I hope everyone has a happy and safe Thanksgiving!!

While the writer is sick...

...the men work. I snuck some pictures from the house. There was No way I was tracking outside in the cold, overcast, yucky day. My dad, Zach and my brother David are rebuilding the back fence in our yard. The two sides were done a long time ago, but the owner of the house in the back never got back to us on fixing it. This week, he finally did. About time too. The fence was leaning into our backyard prepared to fall anytime.
Zach & my little brother David.

That's my dad & Zach. They don't talk to each other much normally because my dad isn't much of a talker to begin with. But when it comes to a project like this or something with cars or motors or something guy-ish, they get along great and communicate perfectly. It's odd. Whatever, as long as they get along, I have no worries.

I've been hanging out in bed all day and took the fluids advice (thanks Donna!) And with the help of some Dayquil I've been doing okay. My nose is super stuffed and it's causing my head to pound, but it's nothing too awful. I've also been carrying Clorox Disinfecting Wipes around with me. LoL. My brother got home from school and handed them to me and said "Make sure you wipe down everything you touch. I don't want to get sick."

It's good to know he cares =]

Sick.

I have officially caught my first cold of the season.
Joy.

A few days ago I was feeling a little cruddy. I wasn't concerned. The next day my nose started plugging up. That didn't bug me either. I wake up this morning with a plugged nose, cough, sore throat, headache and body aches.
I am sick.

I'm surprised. I hardly ever get sick. It usually skips me. My mom is going to hopefully get me some soup & apple sauce today at the store so I can kind of recuperate.

I hope this is done by Thursday.

=]

I am a happy, happy girl today. After many complaints and not so happy family members (myself included), my PawPaw has decided that we are definitely going to be having a traditional Thanksgiving dinner.

Eeeek! I'm so thrilled. I volunteered my granddaughter help early Thursday morning. Last summer, my PawPaw spent about a month an a half in three different hospitals. My grandfather is very accident prone and this incident took the cake. He fell off (well, more like slid down) an eight foot ladder and landed on his rear end, crushing his bottom two vertebrae.

He went to Orville hospital, where after x-rays, some stupid nurse released him. He went home and collapsed twice from the pain, and was rushed back to the hospital. After more x-rays, the doctors told him his problem was too big for them and sent him off to Chico. The doctors there said the same thing, and he was air lifted to San Francisco State University Hospital. He had reconstructive surgery and then had intensive therapy. He's doing well, for being 75 years old.

But because of his back problems, there was no way he could make a turkey and carry it and all that. So, today or tomorrow I'm going to call my cousins and make sure there going to be around to help. This is going to have to be more of our effort this time, and I don't mind one bit.

I'm so excited. I couldn't imagine having Thanksgiving without the traditional dinner.

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

I guess I'm full of annoyances this week.

1.) I can't stand playing video games with boys. Especially games I've never played. They swear they will teach you, help you and let you have the one up on them... for oh, five minutes. Then they get competitive and complicate things and it just turns into a nightmare. Madden Football=no fun anymore.

2.) Please refrain from saying I have an "attitude problem" if you yourself own one. Trust me. I've seen it, heard it and watched you toss it in my face. Don't go a-wall on me about my 'tude.

3.) I'm a woman. Thus, my driving skills are better than yours. Just agree. (Or maybe you should think about your multiple speeding tickets and countless accidents before calling ME[with no tickets or accidents] a bad driver). Just a suggestion.

4.) Seriously... no Turkey on the most Turkey advertised holiday ever? *groan*

5.) This is common sense: don't ever move some one's car and proceed to take something of theirs out and keep it without saying anything. That's rude & pretty much, you're stealing. (PS. If you want my Cd's that bad, you will reimburse me the $400 worth in the case. Go ahead. Test me.)

I don't know if there is something in the water around these parts lately, but I just want to smack everyone in the forehead and tell them to quit acting so stupid!!

Monday, November 17, 2008

So.

My mom informed me today that this year, my family will not be having turkey for Thanksgiving.

We will be having Cornish Game Hens.

I'm quite pissy about it. You wait all effing year for Thanksgiving. The turkey, the mashed potato's, the giblet gravy, the green beans, bread, dirty rice, all the deserts... ugh.

My family used to go to Southern California for Thanksgiving to my grandpas to spend it with my Dad's family. But when my grandpa passed away and his house was sold, we quit going. I've never known why, and I never got a straight answer when I asked.

So Thanksgiving has been spent with my mom's side since, but since about four years ago, has been changing again. All holidays (Easter, Thanksgiving & Christmas) are now spent at my aunt's house. My uncle has been sick, and progressively getting worse.

Last year, we almost lost him, and that led to a not so happy holiday season. Family members were absent, someone boycotted and refused to come down to join guests and the atmosphere was just unplesant. Understandable, but I'm a big believer in tradition when it comes to holidays. I'm also a big believer in hope, and trying to carry on as normal as possible, even with sad or complicated times. Normalcy helps me get through tough times and I can't stand it when others just fall into a nasty pattern.

I just remember a time where the holiday's were so magical and filled with love and good times and happy memories. Now it's all gone kaput. Nobody seems interested in keeping things the same except me. Is that so wrong?

I'm going to push for an alternate Thanksgving dinner the weekend after, even if I have to do it myself. I want a turkey and all the normal sides. I want happy pictures and happy people with nice attitudes.

You are more than welcome to come over.

My furbaby

This is my little guy, Carter. He's four months old.

I've never seen any other cat be emotionally attached to a blanket like he is. He chews on it, drags it around, sleeps with it. It's kind of weird.

Zach and I treat him like a baby. He's spoiled. He has his own space on our bed, an enormous ammount of toys, his other little bed on the floor, 3 blankets..

?
I thought these pictures were funny. And cute of course.I love my little kitten =]

Thursday, November 13, 2008

Well, shoot.

Have you ever wanted to just tell someone to their face how rude, stupid, mean and inconsiderate they're being?

I have a friend who I'm constantly blowing hot and cold with. She can be nice and pleasant one minute, and then pull a 180. She'll just turn into a huge jerk. You don't even have to really do anything to piss her off. She'll just observe and then find something to get pissed off at you about.

It's kind of bothered me since I've known her, but lately it's getting out of control.

Perfect example. Her husband heard that I get up before Zach goes to work to make him a lunch. So he asked her why she never did that for him, and her answer was an insult to my boyfriend. She glanced at Zach, then back to her husband and said, "Well, you're a man, not a boy. Make your own lunch."
I took immediate offence to this. I make his lunch for him because I like to, and he takes it as a sweet gesture. I do it because I love him and we can't afford for him to buy it everyday. She is just flat out lazy and can't drag her butt out of bed for 10 minutes to do it.

It's really starting to annoy me. The snippy comments, the insults, asking me to come out to help her but never getting anything in return. It makes me not want to hang out with her anymore. Not like that would help or anything.

Sometimes I really wonder if they understand why nobody likes to go over to their house anymore. Does she realize it's her bitchy attitude? Does she really go out of her way to insult other people who she thinks are her friends?
I've tried to tell her to just relax or just drop a subject, but its like she likes being pissed off.

It's frustrating. I don't know what to do. I would love to just say it to her face that she's a pissy jerk, but I won't.
Ugh.

I seem to have an issue with TV.

Ever since I can remember, I've had a problem getting into series shows. I just can't seem to get into them or I never took the time to watch it.

But as soon as there are seasons worth of re-runs or the show is done, suddenly, I'm interested. Dawson's Creek ended? I was obsessed. Sex & The City? I'm still obsessed to this day. And now, like right this second, I'm watching a re-run of Desperate Housewives. And of course, I'm wondering why I never paid attention before. Sheeesh.

There are a couple shows I watch religiously:
-CSI Las Vegas. I've watched every season since eighth grade. I LOVE it. (but only Vegas. The other two spin offs are not as good & never will be. I'm dedicated to William Petersen =])
-The Hills. I don't know what it is about that show. I love it and wished my life was somewhat that entertaining. I also wish my life had music that ran along with it too. How awesome would that be.
-Jon & Kate Plus 8. Those 8 kids are cute. It's fun to watch someone have 8 kids because I could never do it.

I had to write about it. It was bothering me. =]

Best weekend in a long time

These past couple days have been the best.

My friend Nichol came home from Colorado for a couple days. Her brother AJ is home for two weeks, so she really came down to visit him, but I always make sure I see her when she's home.

What's always made us laugh is the fact she knew my boyfriend before we were even friends. She's actually the one that introduced us to each other! Her brother and my boyfriend have been close friends for a long time. After AJ went off to the Army, she had me and Zach over at the same time. We never really said anything and didn't see each other until after she moved to school. That's when I got to know him. She couldn't believe it when I told her about this cute guy I had met and it turned out to be him. Life is crazy sometimes.

The four of us have been just spending some time together the past two or three nights and it's been so much fun. I've heard people say the people that stay in your life the longest are the friends you make in high school. So far, I've found that to be extremely true for myself. All the people I've been friends with after high school haven't really stuck in my life. More for their own reasons than mine. I've always taken the length of a friendship into consideration, because it's those people that have been there and know you best. I wouldn't drop that person for someone I've known for three weeks. But that's how a lot of people my age are where I live. I need to move.

Zach has an early day today. He gets off work at 2:30 and he has tomorrow off. Tonight were hanging out with AJ and Nichol again. Nichol leaves tomorrow afternoon to go back to Colorado and I won't see her again until December 20. Not too long so no reason to be sad. AJ is leaving Saturday and heading back to Germany and he'll be in Afghanistan by December. I don't know when we'll see him again. =[ Thank goodness for myspace!

I'm outta here. Have a good Monday!

How to save a life

Last night I was out with Zach, my best friend Nichol and her brother AJ (who is Zach's best friend). Weird how life works, right?

We were all out last night on our way to Tracy, which is about 20 miles from where we live. We were having a good time and joking around. Nichol lives in Colorado and AJ is in the Army and is stationed in Germany, so we hardly get to see them.

We were driving along and saw a fire in a field and as we got closer, we noticed it was a truck. The whole thing was engulfed in flames and was twisted up pretty bad. There was another person who stopped but wasn't doing much of anything. We stopped and saw a guy walking out of the field up to the road, and he was cut up pretty bad and was bleeding from the top of his head. We hurried over to him while Nichol called 911. The poor guy couldn't remember his name or what happened. We helped him walk a couple feet down the road to get as far away from the truck as we could. It was making popping sounds and Zach said it could blow up at any time.

We sat him in the backseat of my car and turned on the heater for him. It was freezing and windy. The ambulance and fire trucks didn't get there for 10 or so minutes.

While all this was happening and the man was getting put in the ambulance and all that, we noticed the first guy who had stopped, left. We couldn't tell the officer what happened, if there was another car involved, how he ended up where he did or if there was anyone else in the car.

If you witness an accident or even see it from a distance and you are the only one around, please please stay. You may be that persons only chance at survival. You can help answer all the questions. Last night I watched countless cars just drive by while four young adults had nothing to help this guy. Out of ten or so cars, ONE stopped. We kept trying to wave them down, but they kept driving.
It really makes me angry to think that people don't have the heart to stop and help someone who's life is in danger. This is the third accident I've stopped at to help. Two of which I watched happen. You might be somebodys only chance. I may not be good with blood or anything like that, but it's the principle of the situation.

Next time you see an accident with no emergancy services present yet, please stop and see if you can assist in any way. Do good for soembody. It makes you a better person.

It's a sad day in NorCal

Yesterday, I lost my beloved Blackjack II to the washing machine.
How it happened, I wish I could tell you.

All I know is I moved it off my bed to wash my sheets. I looked for it 20 minutes later and realized it was missing. My mind immidiatly panicked and I hurried to the washer and pulled everything out. And there it was, sitting in a pool of water.

I burst into tears. It was beyond saving. I loved that stupid phone and it had a lot of memories on it. I had to dig around and find my old phone that I had in high school. Ugggh. This one will have to do for two or three weeks until I can afford to go replace it. My oh so lovley boyfriend laughed at me when he found out.

Whatever. The first cell phone I ever had ended up in a toilet when I tried to answer it while doing my hair. My mom laughed at me that time.

Wednesday, November 5, 2008

Because it's nearly eleven.

It's just about 10:45pm. Zach is out with some of his buddies & I am at home. Ugh. He and two of his friends took off to Oakland or San Leandro; somewhere over there. Picking up a car part or an engine or something. There wasn't enough room for me to tag along, but I wouldn't have gone if you had paid me.
Well... maybe if you paid me.

There is nothing on TV tonight, so I've been wracking my brain thinking of a movie I'd actually pay attention to.

Oh! My bathroom make-over is finally finished! It looks great. I'll need to get some pictures of it. I just haven't bothered to latley.

Well, as short as this is, I've spent.. ohh, thirty or so minutes writing this?
At least it gave me something to do for awhile.

Goodnight.

Eeek.

I'm ecstatic with the election results.
It's amazing that at only 20 years old, I get to see the first African American president. It's a time in my life I will never forget. And if this happened at 20, I wonder what else will be possible in the future.
I have a lot of faith in Barack Obama & I do believe he will bring change to the United States.
At the same time, I'm disappointed. I've watched a lot of my friends throw fits, tell me he's going to get assassinated any day now, how doomed our country is, and that they will be moving to Canada, Europe and so forth. Someone I know went as far as calling me a "N" word lover. Thanks.
I can't wait for Janurary.
Here's to (hopefully) a new time of change.

A fun weekend in pictures

My Halloween wasn't too eventful this year. It rained, it was soggy outside, and we had very few trick-or-treaters. Regardless, I still kinda sorta decorated out front porch with some small pumpkins and some very pink fake spiderwebs. I had absolutley nothing else to work with, so I was proud of what I did.

This is the really tiny pumpkin I carved. Very basic, but extreamly cute.

This is one of two big pumpkins. I never got a picture of the other one, but in all I carved three. I haden't done pumpkin carving in 4 or so years, so I hada blast. And thats also why there so basic =]

The front porch.

This is my good friend Erica and her 6 month old daughter Kayla. We had a small get together last night with some friends and played pool and hung out. It was a good time. Kayla was playing on the floor last night and she tried to pull herself up on a plant. It ended up tipping over on her and she got covered in dirt.

Over on the bottom left you can see how much dirt fell on her. I got this picture right before she stuck her hand in her mouth. A hand dusted in dirt. This little girl is a ham and I absolutley adore her.
It was a good weekend, and with time change we got to stay up a little later last night because 1am came twice! I love time change. Although now it's dark and it's 5:30pm. Eek.
Have a good night!

Happy Halloween!

There's not a whole lot going around here today. Since it's raining and ugle outside, we're not going to put up the decorations we usually do every year. It makes me a little sad, but there is always next year. The news this morning said across the bay area there would be a two hour window for the trick-or-treaters. There aren't many kids around this neighborhood anymore anyway. When I moved here, there were tons of kids. But we all grew up =[ There is one new little family across the street with two girls and a new baby boy, so we'll probably see them tonight.

I hope you all have a safe and spooky Halloween! =]

It's cold.

I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but it's cloudy and cold. There's even a breeze! I honestly thought it wouldn't rain, but the news says it will either this afternoon or tonight. It will also rain through Saturday. Talk about exciting!
I have nothing special going on today. Just more painting. I have some small errands to run as well, but those could be put off till tomorrow. Chances are, they will be. On cold days, I like to stick to home and be comfy and warm. Kind of like I am now =]

Progress

The bathroom is slowly coming along. The stripes aren't doing as well we thought they would do. It turns out the walls aren't square. They go one direction at the bottom of the wall, but as you tape up,they go whole different direction. Ugh.
Another problem we've run across is the red and dark brown aren't the right shades. The dark red is too purple/bright pink looking and the dark brown isn't dark brown at all. So we'll be heading over to Lows in a little while to get them changed.
Yesterday was Zach's day off, and we ended up heading out to the mall in a city about a half an hour from here. We went to lunch and wandered around for a couple hours. We ran into a sale at Sears for mattresses. 50%off of the mattress & box spring set. I was beyond thrilled. We've been talking about getting a new bed because ours is too small. We're sleeping on a Full sized bed. And if that wasn't bad enough, the mattress itself is from the 1960's. I know, right? If you look at the label at the bottom, you can see the date. I inherited it when my grandpa passed away, about 8 years ago. The mattress is just way past it's prime. So we looked around and checked some we liked out. Even half off, for us it will still be a pretty penny to buy one. But at this point, we're not sleeping so good anymore and it's just all around uncomfortable. So hopefully this coming weekend we'll find something decently priced. It may not be the best or the nicest one, but come on. Anything is better than the 40 year old mattress we have now.
Besides our little adventure yesterday, life is just rolling along. I'm so excited for Halloween this Friday. It's supposed to rain or something, but the way the weather had been around here, I doubt it. Zach and I will be heading to our good friends house to take their daughter Kayla trick-or-treating. She's only 6 months old, but we thought it'd be fun anyway. She's going to be a little kitten.
Well, I think I've rambled enough for today. I've got some laundry and cleaning to do. Happy Wednesday!

My complaint was heard =]

I complained on Saturday that I was sick of sunny warm days and hoped for a cloud or two. As you can see in the picture above, I got my cloud wish =]
It's sooooo nice. It's a little cooler, but there is no breeze or anything. It's pretty much my perfect kind of day.

This is my great blue bathroom. I didn't choose this color but I put up with it for awhile anyway. It's not a bad color or anything, but it's not something I would pick. Last week, I decided like it was a good time to repaint it. So the better part of my morning was spent getting things out of the way and taking the mirror and blinds and other things down.

The brownish color at the top is the new color. It's called Navajo White. I think it looks brown. It's a good neutral color and I have all the new bathroom stuff in a box somewhere. The wall in the picture is also going to have a thick dark red vertical stripe about 2 or 3 inches thick. On each side of the red stirpe will be a dark brown stripe. Hopefully it'll turn out like I think it will. I'm one of those people who have great ideas in their head, but getting it right while actually doing it... doesn't always work out that well. We'll see.

I'm a sale magnet.

I love sales. I don't know how to pay for things full price, especially if the store has a sale rack/ clearance section. The other day I went into Bed, Bath & Beyond with my mom. She's been on a decorating kick lately and been painting the house and running around trying to make her idea's come to life. So I tagged along to spend some time with her and I lucked out on the duvet above.

It was sitting on a clearance shelf when I noticed it. It was marked down to $50.00 from $130.00. I nodded and told myself that was a pretty good find. After all, it's Roxy brand. Not cheap. As I'm walking along to the check out, my mom noticed a sticker on the side I hadn't seen. Apparently it was for an additional 75% off the marked price. I grinned and waited patiently to pay for this gem of a sale item. After all was said and done, the duvet cover and matching pillow covers came out to a whopping $12.62. =D

My Momma taught me well.

Otherwise, lately I've been a horrible car owner.
My poor little Ford hadn't been washed in at least two months. I got scolded yesterday by my sweetheart boyfriend for neglecting it. He can't stand it if his truck goes without getting washed once a week. Pft. He works at a Ford dealership and gets his truck washed for him by the detail guy. And he wonders why I let my car get dirty. I have to wash it myself. And when it comes to that, I can wait.

My poor car was covered in dirt. How it got there I have no idea. I hardly drive anywhere. But today I toughed up and went outside and washed it. Now it's clean, inside and out. I wish I could say that about my other car. The Jeep Wrangler behind the Fusion is also mine. It was my first car, the one I drove during high school and my first year of college. It was a cool car to have, I enjoyed it for the most part. It had a couple problems. It guzzled gas pretty bad, the windshield was cracked, the soft top wasn't very forgiving and the transmission was constantly crapping out on me. Finally the thing just gave up and I ended up buying the Fusion. Pretty much, it's been sitting in that same spot since I quit driving it. My Dad and brother have pulled out the transmission in hopes of rebuilding it, but they haven't touched it since it came out.

I'd like to keep both for awhile, until I absolutely HAVE to get rid of one.
Anyways, I better get going. I have some laundry to fold and dinner to make. I volunteered. Taco night. Yummmmm=]
Have a good night!

Another sunny day.

This was taken a little while ago off my parents balcony. I won't lie, I love living in California. But I would really, really love for it to rain already. It doesn't snow where I live, so I can't even hope for that. I'd even enjoy some fog. Shoot. Even a cloud or two would be great.

Yeah. Today it will be sunny and warm, topping off at 83 degrees. It's almost the end of October! Are clouds really too much to ask?

I really don't have much going on today. I have a couple loads of laundry to do and some things to pick up, but that's really it. Zach started work at 8:30 this morning and he won't get off until 7 tonight. I really hate that he works weekends. His only day off every week is Wednesday, which is really inconvenient. Planning anything with his work schedule is difficult.

Hopefully we'll find something to do tonight when he gets home. We stuck around the house last night so no doubt we'll be going out later. Guess we'll see =]

Have a good Saturday!

Friday, October 24, 2008

Well, for a first thought..

It's Friday night.

I have no plans.

I've spent this whole day at home.

Ugh. How bored can a person really be?

My boyfriend doesn't get home for another 45 minutes or so from work. There is no dinner made.. (although I did make home made chocolate chip cookies today... yum =])

I didn't do laundry like I said I was going to. I didn't vacuum either.
Go me. Way to be lazy.

In other news... I FINALLY HAVE MOVING OUT PLANS!!!
It feels good to say that. I didn't go away to college like a lot of my friends did and I opted to go to a JC and remain living with my parents. Now because my boyfriends dad ended up moving to Las Vegas, he moved in with my family. Thanks to a new job that I start in November and his income that he earns now, we will finally be able to afford to get out on our own. SO STOKED.

Over the past couple weeks, we've started looking at apartments in our area and getting an idea of how much it will cost to get us out. It doesnt seem too bad so far. Some of the places are not so great, but we'll see what else we can find. My parents (well, my Mom) really wants to look into forclosed homes. There are two within two hundred feet of my house and both have been sitting for about two years. Her idea is to buy the house and then do a rent-to-own for us. She doesn't seem to want us to stray too far away from her. The house she wants to look into is two houses down from our house. =] She likes the idea of sharing a neighbor with me. Haha.

It's a really exciting time. I can't wait to see where this is all going to go and how it will turn out. Either way, as long as I move out of my parents house, life will be just dandy.
